SACRAMENTO COUNTY SUPERVISOR DISTRICT 1

From farmworker to soccer dad.

Eric Guerra knows what it means to work hard for a better life. Born in Mexico, Eric began picking crops in California fields at the age of five. He put himself through Sacramento State — working nights as a janitor, earning two degrees — and built a career in public service dedicated to the community he calls home.

On the Sacramento City Council, Eric has delivered real results for working families: more affordable housing, safer neighborhoods, and cleaner parks. Now he’s running for Sacramento County Supervisor to do even more.

On the Issues:

Expanding Affordable Housing

Eric has led efforts to build housing that working families and seniors can afford, including a new 130-unit development that is 100 percent affordable. He helped secure $1 billion to make housing more affordable for middle-class residents. As County Supervisor, Eric will keep fighting to expand access to the middle class — because everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

Fighting for Families

Eric is a soccer dad raising two young children with his wife. He knows how hard it can be. That’s why he created a City Council task force to support parents with young children, pushed to expand early childhood education, and worked to make quality child care more accessible and affordable. As Supervisor, Eric will keep working to give every Sacramento family the support they need.

Improving our Parks

Eric fought to protect Sacramento’s parks from homeless encampments, delivered safer street crossings for pedestrians, students, and bicyclists, and pushed for more bike lanes and better lighting across his district. He will ensure parks are kept clean, illegal dumping is stopped, and streets are safe — because great neighborhoods start with clean, safe public spaces.

Strengthening Public Safety

Under Eric’s leadership, Sacramento has seen a multi-year reduction in both violent crime and property crime. He has championed community policing that builds real trust between residents and law enforcement. As Supervisor, Eric will bring that same commitment to public safety to every neighborhood in the county.
